The First of Many
Maggie and Justin welcomed Ellen Layne Anders this week. She joins big brothers Miles and Liam. We had a workday Friday which I left mid-morning for a doctor's appointment. After the appt., I took a slight detour to the hospital before heading back to school. I was able to hold sweet Ellie for a bit, watch the hospital pictures being taken, and watch the proud big brothers come to take her home! Maggie was waiting for the papers so they could go home as a family of five!
My cousin Russ and Jessica, my neighbors, and my friend Crystal will all be welcoming baby girls in the month of December! A girl from school had her baby girl in September, so by December I will know 5 baby girls being born!

A Little Family Gathering
I sent an e-mail out hoping to meet up with whatever family would be in town. It turns out, there was a bigger crowd than expected! Grant and Laura even drove from Raleigh for the occasion! We met up at the Filling Station in downtown W-S. I believe I have said this before, but I highly recommend this place! Since we can't all be together for Thanksgiving this year, it was nice to spend some time together.
Here are our attempts at a group shot: Kyle, I'm going to need you to work your magic! ;)

Race to the Finish
I traveled home Friday night to run in the Rural Hall Are Business Association's
10K. We relaxed at the house Friday evening to a pasta dinner prepared by chef mom. Saturday morning, mom and I headed to the race around 7:30 when it was still 34 degrees outside! I grabbed my race number and got back in the car to stay warm. I was rethinking the shorts and long sleeved shirt I had decided to wear! I completed the race, not in my best time, but I completed the race! After a long hot shower to warm up, mom and I headed down to breakfast with the Rural Hall ladies. Finishing up around noon, we decided to spend the afternoon walking in houses on the Parade of Homes. We looked through five or six fancy, high end houses noting what we did and didn't like...as if we were going to be purchasing one! After the afternoon of walking around, I was done and ready to head home to dinner with family.

Squirrel!
There are white squirrels in abundance around this area. I have seen them plenty in my yard in the three years I have lived here. However, I have never been able to snap a picture to prove it. Usually Pattie jumps at the door or window ready to take after them. This particular squirrel had been nagging her all day and Pattie almost caught her a few times! While Pattie was playing next door with the dogs, I was able to finally capture the proof. It's not the best picture, but it proves they do exist!

Celebrity Sighting!
I went with some friends Thursday evening to Diva Night at Diamond Brand Outdoor Store. I did some looking and wishing, but walked out with no purchases. While we were there, one of my friends spied Andie MacDowell shopping! I knew she lived in the area, but for the eight years I have lived here I have never seen her out. Since no one else was breaking out their camera, I kept mine tucked in my pocket. No pictures to prove it...just trust me!

Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

After a few errands, it was back home to watch the Tarheels beat the Tigers!!!!! It was AWESOME! As soon as the game ended, Pattie and I headed over to Anna and Blair's house. Anna will be the BIG 3-0 tomorrow (Monday)!!! So, a few of use gathered to begin her weekend long celebration! Blair did some grilling and we all gathered to welcome Anna into the club!

Will Guests Arrive?!
I was able to get a King size bed for a good deal from my aunt. So, my parents graciously agreed to bring the new bed up here for me. I realize that having a King sized bed for myself is quite spoiled rotten, but I hated to pass up this opportunity. I would never be able to find this deal again and now I have a bed for guests! They borrowed a truck from friends, loaded it up Friday, and headed up the mountain. Just as they arrived, my neighbors were getting home from dinner and walked over to help. It was wonderful! We moved the queen bed into the guest room and set up the King bed in my room. As we ate dinner here, I washed all the sheets and then we got the new beds ready for the test. Dad was able to comfortably sleep in the queen bed and snore all he wanted while mom and I slept in the new bed. It is so huge I didn't even know she was in the bed with me! Again, I know that I am spoiled rotten.
That night when I opened the door to let Pattie out, there was a mouse attached to my screen door. So, first I took a picture because isn't that what you would do?! Then, I hit it with the leash and it flew into the bushes then scurried into the grass. So, good thing is as of right now I don't have any snakes around my front door because that mouse would surely not have been there!
In addition to the queen bed, I have a double blow up mattress and a couch...any takers?!
